HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I hope you have all had an awesome Christmas and Hogmanay, surrounded by the people who mean the most to you.

Whilst business has been slower this year, as many of my friends have also found (and many restaurants closed), I have been truly touched by how many guests have returned to my wee one man business. More than that, I have been blessed to meet so many amazing people from all over the world, each adding their individuality to the character of each night.

The anticipation is palpable for the year ahead, but also tinged with a little trepidation…all fingers and toes are crossed!!

I am so happy with the current format of The Shore but have been thinking of wee tweaks to improve it further.

One big change is a step back from social media platforms as I wanted to focus my time on a more personal, connected experience. So, I have committed to writing articles, musings and recipes which will all be available here, on my website (which I have rebuilt to accommodate…I think I’ve got it working properly 🤣)

The Social media pages will still be there, but my time is limited as one wee man, so I won’t be regularly updating them. I will, instead, be sending out newsletters each month with links to these articles and recipes.

So, please, give me some idea of what you’d like to see here. Recipes, ideas, knowledge, facts, anything.

…and keep spreading the love.

Bruce x

  • Look forward to reading more from you. If we lived closer than Australia, we absolutely would visit. Our visit to The Shore was most memorable for the both of us..

Happy New Year to you too chef!
I’m looking forward to hearing directly from you in a slightly longer form. More words, the same fantastic photos. The best of Bruce worlds….

Happy New Year Bruce. I barely look at social media any more. I used to use it to catch up with friends and small local businesses but I hardly see them anymore. Instead I find myself bombarded by adverts for things I don’t want and infuriating posts from the worst of humanity and foreign bots. It’s good to know how to keep up with what you are doing in the absence of Facebook, Instagram etc. wishing you all the best for 2026 and looking forward to visiting your fabulous restaurant the next time we are in Penzance. Xxx
